Privacy policy

What we collect

• Your mobile number, to create your account. We confirm it is yours with a one-time password (OTP) sent by SMS.
• A 6-digit PIN that you choose, to sign in. It is stored only in encrypted (hashed) form; nobody at SmashLeague can read it, and we will never ask you for it by phone, message or email.
• Your profile: full name, date of birth, gender, city and playing level. Optionally an email address and a profile photo.
• Your badminton: the tournaments you enter, the matches you play, their scores, and the rankings and statistics calculated from them.
• Entry fee payments: when you pay by UPI, the amount and the last five digits of the UPI transaction id that you type in. You pay from your own UPI app — we never see or ask for your UPI PIN, bank account or card details.
• Messages you send us through Contact us, and, if you allow them, a notification subscription so we can tell you about your matches.

Why we use it

• To run your account and sign you in.
• To decide which tournaments you may enter — categories depend on gender, and age groups on date of birth.
• To make draws, record scores, and publish results and rankings.
• To check entry fee payments against our bank statement.
• To answer your questions and send you notifications you have turned on.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

What other people can see

Tournaments are public, so other visitors can see your name, photo, gender, city, playing level, the tournaments you enter, your match results and your ranking. Your age (but not your date of birth) is used to check which age groups you may enter. Your mobile number, date of birth, PIN, player ID, email and payment details are never shown to other players.

Who helps us run the service

We use these providers, only for the purposes above:

• Supabase — our database and sign-in.
• Google Firebase — sending OTP text messages.
• Google reCAPTCHA and Cloudflare Turnstile — telling people from bots.
• Render — hosting the website.
• OpenStreetMap — finding venues on a map.

How long we keep it

We keep your account while it is active. Tournament results are part of the record of events that took place, so they stay published after an account is closed. Payment records are kept as long as the law requires.

Your choices

• You can change your profile at any time from My Profile.
• You can turn notifications off from My Profile or your browser.
• To see what we hold about you, correct it, or close your account, write to support@smashleague.in from the email on your profile, or use Contact us while signed in.

Players under 18

Junior players are welcome. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to you registering and entering tournaments, and may contact us about your information at any time.

Keeping it safe

The site is served only over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to player information is limited to what each person needs, enforced by the database itself.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell players in the app.
